“I mean, they say you die twice. One time when you stop breathing and a second time, a bit later on, when somebody says your name for the last time.”
― Banksy
We are each a unique individual, but, we all came from a long line of other individuals. We undoubtedly share some of the same traits with some of them because we are irrevocably tied by common DNA. The more we learn about those that came before us, the more we can learn about ourselves. To learn the struggles they may have faced can make ours not seem so intolerable. It can embolden us, to know that they were part of some historic event that helped changed the world. It takes that event off the pages of the history book and makes it part of your DNA, your story.
I enjoy the search for an individual, birth to death and all their life in-between. To paint a complete picture of who they were and to see how far back I can trace the lineage. My love of Genealogy really started to bloom when I was about 13, and I have been researching and learning ever since.
If you would like help getting started, or have gotten stuck, I may be able to be of some assistance. My specialty is American Colonial Families, Pennsylvania and the North Eastern United States to England, Wales, Germany, Italy, Canada and Scotland since this is where my roots take me. In looking comes no guarantees. Records may simply not exist or did and have long since been lost to time or war.
So, if you are looking to get started on filling in your family tree, and you don't know where to begin, or have gotten stuck send me an email. Depending what you are on what you are looking for will determine the cost of the search.
I also feel that it is easy to get lost today and not feel like one belongs anywhere. Doing research on your family can give you a sense of belonging, seeing long forgotten relatives that may look like you, or have the same interests can help you make sense in a world where families don't always stay together.
Let's find their stories, breathe life back into their existence.
